Current version broke weekend challenges and made game less rewarding

The fun of playing Disneys Crossy Road was unlocking your favorite Dosney characters to play with. Grinding through horrible challenges such as collecting 400 hour glasses with a chess piece to to get coins was worth it for the opportunity to unlock a new character. The latest update doesnt reward you with coins... it rewards you with tickets for the broken weekend challenges. Last weekend the challenge reset your progress every time you turned the game off. This was never the case in the past. It used to be once you earned the experience points your progress was saved. As a result you can now not earn a character during the week due to the game over promoting the tickets for weekend challenges and you cannot earn the characters on the weekend due to the challenge being broken. I love this game but it needs to be fixed... soon.
